Street Dance Day Change

Street Dance is changing back to Tuesdays this term, to fit in with Shenice’s college timetable.  I hope this isn’t too inconvenient, I know many of you have said you preferred Tuesdays.

Happy New Year.  Our clubs will all be starting again in 2012, usually in the second week of January unless your youth worker has given you a different date.

The Centre has had a really successful year, with high numbers at all our clubs.  The Community Cafe, which is run by volunteers on Wednesday mornings, celebrated its first year in September.  We had an open day to mark the 50th anniversary of the youth club in November, attended by some of its very first members.

We were sad to have said goodbye to excellent youth workers Myrn, Pippa and Caroline and pleased to have welcomed Kate, Julie and Martin.  We have fantastic volunteers, too many to mention, who also do sterling work.

We are currently looking for an additional youth worker for our Senior Club on Thursdays.  Check out the Senior page for a job description.

New Term information

Street Dance Day Change:-  classes have now moved to Wednesdays, times and details as before (see the Street Dance page for details) and start on Wednesday 7th September.

Junior and Senior Clubs start back the following week (from 12th September)

Babysitting course

Our annual babysitting course for 13 to 18 year olds starts on Wednesday 9th March, 6-7pm for 5 weeks.  The cost for the course is £15, which leads to a certificate for all those who complete the course.  You will learn about emergency first aid, how to cope in a crisis and more essential information.  The course is run by a professional first aider, and includes time with a health professional and parent.  Places are limited, please email to secure your place.

Street Dance day change!

Shenice’s college commitments have changed,  and she is no longer able to teach on Wednesdays.  As a result, we have changed the day to Tuesday, 4-5pm for juniors, 5-6pm for seniors.  We realise this is going to be inconvenient for some people and are very sorry if it causes problems.

Monday 6th December – Club Cancelled due to bad weather

This was due to be the last club of the term, but due to bad weather, it is cancelled. Club will start up again in the New Year Monday 10th January.
